That Steelix brought Gliscor to the brink of death after two Ice Fangs - the second froze him, no less - and Gyarados, though successful in taking the Steelix out of the picture, was ultimately felled by an unexpected Stone Edge that had to hit and sandstorm damage after she held on with 2HP. She went out fighting, though...and that's the best way to go.
Now at Lake Valor, clearing out grunts. Hopefully Saturn isn't too problematic.
