I'm bored so I've been playing with the idea of a pokémon "remake" where you would revisit gen 1 to 4 with gen 9 mechanics, mainly open world exploration and encounter.
It would basicallybe pokejapan, including Kanto, Johto, Hoenn Sinnoh and including minor regions like fiore, sevii/orange islands, almia, oblivia, kitakami and the sinjoh ruins.
Adding some islands inspired by Okinawa to have some gen 7 pokémons (no ultra beasts or legendaries), otherwise it would be just gen 1 to 4
set 30 years after the events of red and blue, think pokemon journeys with multiple badges and ribbons to get accross all the regions culminating in a pokéjapan tournament.
Old playable characters would return either as professors or super trainers.
Kanto has become a huge urban landscape most cities are directly linked to each others, Less pokémons are living there and are mostly urban adapted (meowth, poison, steel and electric types). Lots of tourists and visitors from other regions. Safari zone is now a fossil park, you can find some revived and preserved fossilmons there
in contrast Johto developed in a environmental friendly way and tried to preserve its culture as much as possible, a special pass is required to travel to the cities and access services like gyms and poke centers for non residents, making it a late game region, Mt silver is also high level.
Sinnoh would be one of the first regions you'd visit together with Almia. the poketch company has been bought and merged by siplh Co and are now developing motismart apps. (wondering if motiwatch would be a cool idea or design).
Adding lore and plot about the celestials from Sinnoh, the dragon clan and old Johto
Hoenn would be just before sinnoh. also lots of tourists, but mostly on the coasts, region didn't change much. mega stones available there.
so just some fanservice for old fans and ashnime self inserts.
