>Ok, so! Honestly, it bugs me when people talk about Serena caring about Ash more than any of the other girls, because one of the things I love most about Pokeshipping was Misty's devotion to Ash, how she was always there for him and was always looking out for him, even though he really didn't notice it (like in the second movie. so much.) I feel like the two of them knew exactly who each other were, and cared about each other despite their faults. As for how obvious it was... Well, there was added dialogue in the US version, but not all of it came from... well, it wasn't so much mistranslation as the US staff wanting to play it up. Anyway, there was also some pretty obvious visual stuff with the blushing and everything, and... Well, suffice it to say that it's a stretch to say it wasn't written into the original. You guys like how gentle Ash is with Serena, right? I get that; I like certain other ships like that. Poke's kind of the opposite, because I felt like Ash and Misty were really comfortable with each other. I love how their relationship started out antagonistic, but at some indefinable point, they understood that they were friends, and it became more like teasing. And I also liked how the two of them called each other out on their faults... because even though they were giving each other a hard time, I think they helped each other grow that way. ...You know, if you really want to understand what I like about Poke, I'd look into the manga/anime Lovely Complex. It's pretty much Poke if it had ever developed. And since it's different characters, it probably won't bother you.
