They perceive it as an easier avenue to wealth generation, but lacking experience with money management they fall into the trap of spending and spending until they finally realize they've fucked up.
At least this idiot here can still come out ahead presuming his supposed collection value is something he can actually realize and not just him also not knowing some cards just aren't going to be worth the time and effort to unload.
