Digimon came off as a cringe try hard knock off version of pokemon since it came out after. The evolution lines were nonsensical and the designs were over the top and ridiculous. The plot made zero sense and it was impossible to follow as a kid cause of the large cast and then the new season introduced another cast.
All the Digimons names ended in "mon" and when they evolved it was called "digivolve in the US which was very cringe.
The Digimon talking was cringe
And the Digivolve sequence in the US didn't have the guitar rift song, we got an incredibly gay song instead.
