If a re-remake was made today, I think they'll fix it since they know now that more diversity of Pokémon is a good thing. You can complain a lot about Gen V, VI and VIII, but not about the diversity in-game.
I understand that people — including me — are tired as fuck of Kanto pandering, but today I don't know how could a re-remake go worng today.
