erika went pretty well. i thought gale being adamant could handle her entire team, but after missing OHKOs on victreebel and ludicolo (though still taking them out), i decided to swap chiaki on blissey, used jonathan to wall bellossom entirely, then had garm clean up jumpluff and vileplume. i didn't wipe to erika last time, but she put me in such a bad spot and got so lucky with sleep bullshit that i just wanted to reset, very satisfying beating her deathless here.
the level cap for the next gym is 50, koga, so because this game has not been the most fun i decided to grind a bit and smash giovanni and the rival instead of playing fair. lame, but it gives access to stuff like the amulet coin and the exp share now (hate how kanto gatekeeps that shit), and i'll have to fight them fairly later on in silph co.
