I'd wager that Chandelure would be overpowered with Shadow Tag.
Remember that Gothitelle is the reason Shadow Tag was banned, and it's a shitmon without it. Chandelure is at least UU without it, and can reliably run more sets than just trapping.
Let's compare Gothitelle and Chandelure.
- Gothitelle's biggest advantages are its better bulk, less weaknesses, Tickle, Thunder wave and PSYSHOCK.
- Chandelure's biggest advantages are its higher Speed, its HUGE immediate power, much better offensive typing, Will O Wisp and two type immunities.
- Both can run a ScarfTrick set to cripple walls, and Chandelure's speed means little here.
- Both can run a Calm Mind/Rest set, with Tickle/Will o Wisp to cripple physical attackers. Chandelure loses to Fire-types, Gothitelle probably loses to Swords Dancers. They each have a niche here.
+6 Psyshock does around 70% to Chansey, while +6 Flamethrower only does approximately 41-50%, so you need to Burn it to smash through Chansey as Chandelure. On the other hand, Psyshock is then stopped by physical walls, so Chandelure wins this one.
