Honestly the endgame stuff has never been a massive priority for me. It's nice that people don't have to cheat to have competitive pokes anymore but what I really want in a game is a solid "campaign" with lots of fun moments, interesting locations and replayability. Pokemon is about memories and nostalgia for me, each game had it's own nostalgia and cool moments.
The early game was okay but after the second gym it just felt rushed and some of the routes were so poorly thought out. One route has blank brown dirt with roller blade slides randomly placed everywhere and facilities with locked doors. It screams unfinished, it looks like a developer test area.
The character customization needs real work, nothing looks good on the male and his face is so generic. Why couldn't they have included items from other games, like Brendan's hat?
I actually prefer just choosing a generic trainer sprite to represent you, like in the other games. It's not personal but at least it has character.
