>>55623513I was working out designs and backstories for Miko's parents, and funnily enough, his mom is a chef at one of the restaurants in Medali where they live. Miko's been growing up surrounded by great food his entire life living in Paldea's food hub, and thus he prefers Paldean (Spanish) food. But to him, nothing beats his Mom's cooking. His favorite is the Potato Tortilla she makes.
A bit of a lore dump on Miko's family cuz why not?
Miko's mom, Mei [picrel], is originally from Johto. She's a chef and her partner pokemon used to be Chansey. The two never got along and would always butt heads, but once Miko was born they put aside their differences to take care of him. Miko's mom gave him her Chansey who ended up becoming the Blissey Miko has on his team rotation. Blissey is super protective of Miko, acting like a second mom and babysitter for when he goes venturing out on long journeys far from home. Mei has her own Fidough and sometimes employs Miko's Eiscue to stand in the freezer at the restaurant to keep things cool.
Miko's dad, Julio, is a medical writer and stay at home dad, although he's often too busy with his research and writing to keep an eye on Miko- not even realizing he's gone half the time. He was born and raised in Paldea and has a Pawmot and Magnemite who help him with his work.
