>>41937695Turns out the Doctor's father was a neuro-surgeon that had a 99% success rate, sustained by illegal practices which led people to pursue him. He developed an incurable disease and used his neuro knowledge to transplant his memories into his son, since he'd die before finding a cure.
The capsules you find in the desert and documents about him where because of that. But when he did the procedure, whatever the fuck that happened that destroyed the region in the past happened, which made it only half-work resulting in the Evil Doctor we have now which is kind of schizophrenic. His son's body still develops the same disease anyway which is why he was obsessed with (You): without relatives he wouldn't be able to the trick again but your body was compatible. The reason he locked your friends on the hospital even after they recovered was so you'd be forced to stay in sight while he could get the procedure ready and transplant his memories into your body.
Lavender however turned out to be an even better match so he was planning to do it to her. So you fight him.
The field is factory. The doctor isn't as strong as a gym leader, but his team is more diverse and the factory field works on his favor as his pokemon can either use electric moves boosted from when it's lit or dark moves boosted from when it's darkened. He is also stacked with Full Restores, I think he used 3~4 when you fight him which made me NOT feel like shit by using Full Revives on him. You win, your rival arrives flying to help because he has a remote Megaman body with wings, you all save the day and go back to live on the condos, though the Doctor laughs like a maniac claiming he has gifted everyone on the city already (a possible nod to how everyone that enters the city has to take a vaccine, suggesting that it was something else). And so the episode ends.
