I remember doing wonder trades a lot when i was younger, and looking at the app menus made me nostalgic. The HMs really take me back! If I remember correctly, this was the last gen where they were used like this. It was nostalgic to have to manage them. If Surf was a physical water move i would teach it to my starter, but its not (i trained him to be a physical attacker.) I didn't want to double up on water types so I restored to the age old trick of a slave. The Pancham doesn't fight, but it knows Surf, Strength, Rock Smash, and Cut and is essential for exploring.
