Even if BDSP doesn't incorporate Platinum's mon variety or letting you beat Fantina a little earlier it'll still be better than DP if it's got nu-Pokemon's QoL improvements. No need to carry around Defog/Rock Climb HM slaves, no need to make multiple trips through zubat cave #4 to find every last item, etc. And the underground has non-Sinnoh pokemon so hopefully that'll fix the "the only available fire type until postgame besides Chimchar is fucking Ponyta" issue. I'm optimistic.
