A beautiful dream... but all dreamers must wake eventually... Need to hug and kiss kiki.>Please take all the time you need!Likewise to you.
>Oh, I remember you said Fourth Wing was awful and this is from the same author lol. Just downloaded it and from a quick glance at the prologue, the prose seems decent to me. No idea about the contents yet, of course. They're the same series yeah.
>If you don't mind the discussion... what makes a book good or awful in your eyes? You know, that is a good question. I've been suffer-reading books for around six years at this point and I've never really stopped to think about it.
Firstly, I suppose it needs to be said that the vividness of the world is incomprehensible. People are bound to have different viewpoints, perspectives, experiences, first impressions and mental associations, all of which shape the opinions they form.
Thus, part of me believes that trying to be some sort of objective arbitrator of quality, judging what deserves to be liked and disliked, loathed and loved, is a fool's endeavour. Another part of me simply chooses to revel in the rage and condemnation
When I do go and read through the barrens of my hatred, I end up going through reviews, both positive and negative, to see the reception that they've garnered and to try and understand why they think that way.
Often, I end up with a distinct sense of disgust that no one shares my opinions, but that's just a personal moral failing of mine.In truth, I don't think I can concisely answer your question. I could go through each book I hate-consumed over the last six years, pointing out and listing all the things that made me hate them, but none of them have enough commonalities in content for there to be a reasonable answer. My reasons for dislike (and like) are myriad.
