The sad part is that the Teraleak posed her as early 20s. Lysandre going off about her age like this is literally him saying "WOULDN'T YOU ALWAYS WANT TO BE BEAUTIFUL?" at a woman half his age

It was a hypothetical by Lysandre trying to scare her into supporting his cause. Diantha's actually young (Teraleak puts her in her early 20s) and Lysandre went "WHAT IF YOU GET OLD WOULDN'T YOU WANT TO BE BEAUTIFUL FOREVER?" to which she said she'd be okay with getting different roles because time waits for no one

It's her only scene in the game and it's just her musing about her potential rather than doing anything

That's Game Freak's fault for literally only making you encounter her once before they reveal she's Champion. At least Lance has a significant arc with Team Rocket in Mahogany Town and was already a boss in the last game so they didn't need to work with him too much but up to that point Steven, Cynthia, N, Alder and even Iris all had a lot of development before you fight them as Champion

All Diantha got was Lysandre being weird as fuck to her
