>>52775970>>52776249If I can preach i've found ninetails to be the "best" overall fire type for gen 1 kanto. Had identical stats to zard but +15 to special and learns it attacks more quickly, although that means using vulpix for a while.
Flareon and arcanine both have huge attack,but you could argue the more speed=more crits. Both Mon don't learn flamethrower untill LVL 50,as growlithe and at 52; vulpix gets it at 35.
zard does have a few more moves + swords dance(even though crits ignore stat ups), but I'd argue dig still has enough coverage (and in gen 1 has 100power, effectively just a 2 turn EQ)+ a better field move than fly since you can still delete it if necessary and used in dungeons.
Rapdiash is so-so and falls nears magmar where they don't really other anything unique (other than horn drill and psychic respectively) and come too late in game imo.
