>>50848791It was small starting town that had roads connecting to the ranch and another town on either side. There were a couple of trainers you could use to level up your starter to like 10 so you can feasibly use it against other Pokemon without just chucking balls and hoping for the best.
The only other prebuilt town was the 2nd one which had shops, a bank, and was directly connected to the player market. It was great since everyone was likely to pass by there and there was enough to do and explore in it that you could have some fun moments with other players.
A lot of that is lost this gen.
