I prefer 2016 to now, but I can't deny the influence that things like cringe compilations had on the creative output of the net. Nowadays everything looks the same because everyone tries to copy that which is popular so they can avoid scorn and be considered "good" by other people.
It's why there are now 5 art styles total, it's why every website looks the same, it's why even indie video games have near-completely homogenized

this little enclave of hyper-cringe is the most sane part of this board
and the only one keeping me around and that is to be cherished with the utmost sincerity
hell, we even have random people coming in here and saying how much they love this shit before vanishing
there's definitely a hint of people who still want to do things like this
they just need to push themselves and join us
