There are NPCs that talk to you about sea pollution, air pollution and how can they affect diseases, there's medicine obtained from nature, lots of different environments and "ecosystems", cities with tree houses, built over corals, etc etc.
To sum it up the enemy teams that form the main plot had to be connected with that thematic. The water/land conflict that magma/aqua represent is probably meant to be a representation of what can go wrong when people decide to interfere with the environment and disturb its balance.
IMO it's a very cool theme but they could've explored it way better.
