Game freak have added types before and there is a maximum of one 3 stage pokemon being changed each generation. Sometimes you don't even get that (dark type).
Game Freak have already announced all the pokemon that are changing types, that's only 3 lines of 3 but that's your lot. They have announced 2 new fairy types already though which indicates that any disparity in numbers of fairy type pokemon will be rectified with brand new pokemon.
Fairy is a new type, it is not intended to replace normal type as some of you fools seem to think and it doesn't mean that any small pokemon will now become a fairy either, nor will it become a fairy if it looks a bit pink. The flower fairy pokemon they anounced in corocoro is white, garevoir is green and marill is blue. Neither does an egg type designate 100% what type a pokemon would be especilly when that might well be reconnected with a different name to avoid confusion.
I actually like the idea of fairy type and think it would be a complete and utter waste if rather than give fairy pokemon a new identity they just slapped it onto a bunch of pre-existing pokemon because they were underpowered crap to the point nobody uses them and pink as op's pic suggests.
