For that matter, I'm not a competitive player so decisions like having candies instead of EV's suit me just fine. I'm even a hardcore Kantofag at heart - remembering the first two gens fondly - so I'm all for revisits to old favorite regions.
And yet, even though I /like/ everything it added and I'm basically the exact pinpoint target audience of the game, I can still only call Let's Go "barely okay". There's too much missed potential, too much room for improvement, too many cut corners, too many outdated relics of a bygone era of gaming. Even as a genwunner, I'll admit that the 1:1 Kanto adventure from 1996 cannot stand on it's own anymore, and certainly not as a full price release. There needed to be more meat to this game, which is basically the exact same problem that has faced every mainline game since Gen 6 started.
