Just your daily reminder that your Pokémon are only as old as your last save and that the Pokémon you had on your gba cartridge is not the Pokémon you have on your 3ds.
No one on the planet has “Pokémon that have been with them for 10 years” because every time you save, the game overwrites the old pkm file with a new copy (with any changes made).
Pokémon are not literal pieces of data that stay with you for years, they’re closer to symbols that represent the legacy of your time spent acquiring and raising them.
