>>48801656There's definitely something unique about the glitches in Pokemon that makes them a little spooky. This is especially true in Gen 1, which I think is because the games will just keep on chuggin' where most games would've just crashed. Instead, they'll just spit out a surprisingly functional Pokemon that produces some odd effects in the game world, making them seem more like weird monstrosities than glitches.
And then if you dig even deeper (and you already had to do some esoteric shit to get Missingno. and 'M'), you run into some really malicious stuff that can just straight-up destroy your save file. I know anything to do with Lovecraft or the word "eldritch" have entered meme territory a long time ago, but it definitely feels like you're peeling back some layers in the game world that you really weren't meant to be peeling back.
