Don't blame Smogon, blame GF for making stupid-broken Megas that are breaking the game. Obviously they don't give a shit about singles since they only care about VGC Doubles. That's why they made pokemon such as Mega Kanga and Mega Gengar because they would be at least balanced and not as broken in doubles, where as in singles they fucking ruin in hell. Same goes for Mega Luke and Mega Mawile: it may be broken in singles, but it can be easily dealt with in Doubles, and to GF, that's okay for them.
In other words, gen 6's power creep may spell the beginning of the end for Smogon.
