I think what really bugs me are the attitudes. There may very well be a kernel of truth at the centre of these Tumblr snowflakes' arguments, but they're too busy being offended to try and get people to see their point of view.
A man I really respect is Benoit Mandelbrot. He came up with the idea for something called "fractals". The scientific community said he was full of shit, so he set out to prove that he wasn't. Fractals ended up being one of the most important mathematical discoveries in history.
Which brings me back to snowflakes. Or rather, a fractal called the Koch Snowflake. It's a snowflake, but it's grounded in something practical.
