>>52597803As an Absol fan, that is actually why I like it. When I was 12, I definitely had an edgy scene kid Hot Topic phase, and although I've since outgrown it and have become a completely different person, Absol is very nostalgic to me.
It reminds me of a time when we weren't so self aware about edginess. Like the katanas and fedoras, but unironic. We've ridiculed that stuff so much that you only ever see that done ironically.
And there's nothing wrong with that. I just think the unironic cringe was a lot more fun.
