When did you realize pokemon wasn't all that?
I am speaking from a gameplay/art standpoint.
I loved most of the pokemon and wanted to see them in cool games, but I kept getting disappointed over and over again, majority of pokemon games are honestly really crappy. I didn't out grow the series, I honestly wished for more from day one.
Pic related, we see cool shit like this in the pokemon art, but not in game.
I honestly am surprised that people kept up with this crap for so long. there are better games in the monster genre out there.
>Arc the lad 2 +Monster arena>96' holiday>monsters with walk cycles, different attack, spell, death and reaction animations>free move tutor 6 years before we had a payed move tutor in pokemon>can shift between different elemental regional forms>item equips and forging 3 years before it was in pokemon>different arenas for monsters to battle in giving advantages to certain ones>could use your ingame human party if you wanted to bullshit your way through some challenges>actual in game prizes for completing things instead of bullshit badges>trading items as well as monsters in gameUnfortunately came to the west in 02' when the ps1 was t the end of it's cycle

Even had an animated series, but it made everything a bit too serious
If it came to the west first instead of Pokemon, it would have obliterated it
Recently World of final fantasy
>All the models look way better than any Pokemon released, and have actual texture and anatomy>can cycle through "regional forms" and different evolutionary stages cost free>team of six fights all at once>make stacks for different strategies>interesting world with fantasy elements>actual story>actual bosses and uncatchables>time altering elementsHonestly why don't more people see it? Is it the "it's a rip-off" because newsflash, shinmegami and dragon-quest had monster recruitment before pokemon.
