Maybe it's because I'm a normal looking dude that doesn't hate myself, but my avatar looks fine. Face is a little round I guess, but within about 2 minutes of going through the sliders, and it looks basically the same as before, maybe just a little less 'idealized.' Clipping is also crazy bad right now, but that's always been a problem that Niantic needs to figure the fuck out already.
Is the problem the female avatar? They look a lot less feminine, but like 5 minutes with the sliders gets around most of it. Are people just making themselves, then realizing they look like shit IRL, then having a breakdown? That would explain the toons and women yelling.
I'm just not seeing what the fuss about is about, though I'm sure there's something really stupid and obvious that I'm just too normie to notice.
