I also love trading my leftovers. It's weirdly enjoyable to the point where I'm almost trading for the sake of trading and not really because I want to use what I'm trading for right away.
The victories with hand-bred Pokemon feel a hell of a lot more satisfying than simulator wins, too. All of my hard work combined resulted in the victory, not just 10-15 button presses.
