About to set off on Victory Road in Pokemon Gaia. Overall, I found Gaia to be great in many ways that other romhacks tend to be weak. Despite the map being quite large, the layout is really well thought out, and even before you get fly, it's pretty quick to get from one place to another on the mainland. Valoon Way is such a fun route, I'd describe it as small but dense with lots of nooks and crannies. There are certain QoL features that I wish the game had like HM's being innate, but I have a feeling the devs kept it vanilla on purpose so that you're forced to use 5 good pokemon.
It's good enough that I'm considering doing another playthrough with a randomizer. I was also thinking of playing Pokemon Sage since I haven't played a romhack with all fakemon yet.
