Finally. I changed up my strategy. I was using toxic -> flamethrower so that he wouldn't heal his Pidgeot at the start. Decided to just go with Flamethrower, chunked the bird to half health. So next turn he switched out to Rhydon that's been one shotting poor Pele.. Do a bit over half its hp and send it packing with another flamethrower. Was a piece of cake from then on. So.. many.. resets on him though.
Final stats: Lv 83, Lonely nature with Flamethrower, Toxic, Amnesia, and Earthquake. 30 'deaths' of Pele being taken down, 10 being the early struggle of trying to get to 8 for Ember, and a few scattered around from crits.. Most are from the e4 though. It's over fellas! Pele did it!
