EV training really doesnt take that long in most games either, as long as you do it right. Regardless, I still enjoy the degree of control a lot. Even if the interface for it isnt great. I think its pretty unique to Pokemon.
And designs are obviously a manner of taste. I think there's usually a lot more really good looking Pokemon than there are bad ones.
