>>53174462>>53174482>>53174506I think Jynx being partly inspired by the yokai Yamanba would make sense. She was big in Japanese dance plays which explains the dance stuff in Jynx's Pokedex entries. She was a witch often connected with snow on the mountains which explains the Psychic/Ice typing. And she popularly looked like an ugly longhaired negress in Japanese media at the time (pic related from 1991) which explains Jynx's appearance. She even inspired some of that negroesque ganguro fashion later on.
