Just let spin-offs introduce new Pokemon on their own. It gives them a sense of legitimacy and 100% draws in people who wouldn't have glanced at them otherwise.
I know Legends Arceus wasn't a spin-off per se, but I think there would've been FAR less interest in it if it wasn't also offering new designs to discover while playing through the game. Like, imagine if a potential new Mystery Dungeon debuted a new Mythical/Legendary and attached a story to it so people could get to know it, or a potential Pokken sequel debuted a new Fighting type and let their personality/gimmick shine through how they played. It'd draw a LOT of attention they otherwise wouldn't have gotten.
