All I did was lay out the information on the table and draw my own conclusions. Something being implied doesn't mean that's what happens. I fully acknowledge it's just a theory, but I personally believe it and I think it's fun to discuss stuff like this.

Even if you skipped the intro to Black and White or maybe even just skipped Gen 5 period, a quick google search to show the intro will reveal to you that yeah his arm's kinda fucked up. It's blacked and has some nasty looking marks on it: it looks as though it was either mauled or horribly burned. Considering how the guy treats even his closest allies or most valuable tools, it's not that big of a stretch to assume he got some pretty nasty injuries from that Hydreigon of his before he finally got it under control.
