>>55183984I'd say having it be rare keeps it from needing to be "feature bloated" with all sorts of super special unique powers JUST LIKE MHA and shit and that having said capability to actually interact with and use Infinity Energy as a human being is incredibly special enough as it is no matter how simple or complex their ability with it is and regardless of whether it's a strong or weak ability in itself. Scarcity of the ability itself AND scarcity of high-powered individuals of said ability is overall better for a setting than not. Not everyone is destined for greatness. Most people aren't destined for much at all and sometimes keeping this cruel reality in play makes things a bit more bearable on a writing front. Not to mention, not everyone wants to be THAT kind of "super special" character. Just look at the more "joe-blow" OCs we got around here
not that there's anything wrong with them, but I am just saying, more people lean into something mundane than not.
