>>37651312There was no mistake here, the problem is that for some reason the model is rendered flipped, and they decided to "fix" it by redrawing the kimono. Look at Isabelle's ponytail, is on the wrong side.
This was also something implemented very quickly and fixed just as quick, while the Erika sketch and sprite must have gone throught different hands over the years and wasn't fixed until Yellow.
