HOWEVER, now that it’s been SEASONS, Misty and Ash have both changed a bit, mellowed out. As seen in the last time she was in SM, the dynamic is fresh and exciting again with the light banter and antics between them. The old friends vibe is nice.
A change in writers and status quo is all you need to make her (and Brock for that matter) work, and that is what is happening right now. The ratings were good, expect to see more of her in the future :)
