My favorite memory is with Ancient Mew. I didnt even go to the Cinema. A blimp flew across my neighborhood to promote the 2000 movie. It dropped a buncha Ancient Mews like confetti. The neighbors were pissed because it destroyed their lawn. I ran into nearby lawns to hoard them. Got like 30 or so, and that was just 1/10 of the lawns in my neighborhood. I was too young to go farther than the end of the block. Also got a free Base Set Charizard from this guy I met on YouTube, back when the site was more like myspace. He was just nice. Although my favorite card is probably a Delta Species Tyranitar I pulled back in the gen 3 days. Dont have that card anymore but I'll buy it online eventually
