It's a terrible, terrible item on all but two roles. Suicide attacking unstoppable sweepers, such as Extremekiller arceus, psycho killer mewtwo, or swords dance lucario. The other role are strong bulky pokemon that can heal themselves to punish the opponent stalling you, such as natural cure + rest shaymin, roosting dragonite, and so forth. YOu woul be an idiot to stick a life orb without proper reason on something like tyranitar who is built to take hits, and dish them out, or genesect who punishes itself for doing what it does best, u-turn spam.
Life orb use should be very limited.
