It took a few moments for the mechanisms underground to get into place, after doing nothing but gathering dust and cobwebs for years and years. Finally, they started up.

The statue, which at first appeared to just be a rotting arm, quickly expanded. It was revealed to actually be a conjunction, a statue consisting of two people.

The Fletchling was holding up a mirror, meant to harness the power of the sun. It did just that, a beam hit the mirror, and was deflected into a small hole between the two figures.
It activated another mechanism.
The small hole expanded, and out from it came a gigantic tower with a crude antenna on top of it. The tower rivaled even the maximum height of the volcano. However, a second energy source was required for it to be activated.
