DOUBLE ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT
Starting Friday evening, December 20th, 8pm (US Central, or Chicago/Dallas time) we will start our new weekend event, the DOUBLE ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT. People have been asking for a battle tournament for a while now, and I think this is the best time to try. Here's what to expect
Following this post, you need to REPLY to this post with your ingame name and stated intention to join the tournament. PLEASE USE A SECURE TRIPCODE. The first 32 people to add their name will get to participate.
Friday at 8pm, I'll post the bracket. That night, and for all of saturday, we need to get through two rounds, and one round of the losers bracket, if we can. I will determine all the necessary byes if we have to. The later rounds can be done on sunday and monday, we'll be more lax with scheduling as we whittle down to fewer people. All tournament communications that are pertinent will be posted to thread.
RULES! For battle? No holds barred (almost). You can use any Pokemon, held item, and move combination you have access to. We will grant to you EVASION CLAUSE. There is no team preview, and scouting is fair game. Switching out Pokemon between rounds, if you have the time, is also fair.
Here's the prizes for the tournament:
1st Place: Their pick of Articuno, Zapdos, or Moltres
2nd Place: Their pick of the above, after 1st Place picks.
3rd Place: The remaining of the bird trio.
Participation: Everyone who signs up (even if they don't play) gets the following:

Surf Pikachu
These may be given out before, during, or after the tournament as the jannies have time. If you get it, Surf Pikachu is not allowed during the event.
Basically, once the tournament starts, we'll post the bracket and update it occasionally. You are expected to reports your wins or losses to the thread, with your secure tripcode you used to sign up.
