>>51070946The Darkrai subplot is a real blemish on an otherwise fantastic game. There is not a single hint of Darkrai doing shit until like 30 hours into the game, at which point everything he says he did sounds like he's just making it up on the spot. Every other part of the post-credits "story" was perfectly fine. Even Aegis Cave, as abysmal as it is, has the plot of "your partner wants to go on a treasure hunt with some famous explorers, and wants you to go with."
That's the cool thing about post-credits, everything you do is a team finally free of the routine of the guild, finally able to go treasure hunting and exploring on their own, finally able to use your team and recruits to their fullest. Then Darkrai decides it's time to appear after 90% of anything that could be considered plot is over and poof, there goes your recruits. Now it's back to being forced into partner/protag all because this one-dimensional guy you have zero investment into decided to show up and go
