>>47017119Millenials born during the 90s grew up in an entertainment environment saturated with dragonic media (DragonTales, Jurassic Park, Barnie and Friends, Pete the Dragon etc) so they began to idolize the "badass dwagon". These drooling cheetodust coated gremlins almost always invariably leaned towards picking the most "badass dwagon" looking characters in video games too like Bowser in Mario Kart or Renamon in Digimon.
So when Pokemon burst on the scene, 2 things happened: The anime, which heavily features and focuses on Charmander and Charizard to the deteiment of everyone else sans Pikachu, debuted and 2 This anime was directly beamed to every single TV in the nation on public access TV via antennas; even the most poorfaggiest of poorfags had at least 1 TV and at least an antenna for free public TV, so every child was subejcted to this. Furthermore, Kids WB was where it aired on and they were very aggressive in doing so, as it aired literally 6 times a week, twice per day, one double run in the morning and one double or even quadruple run in the afternoon, with new episodes heavily hyped, spammed and marketed for the Saturday morning weekends (The 2 parter gym fight between Blaine's Magmar and Ash's Charizard on the volcano was on the same level as the Superbowl in terms of anticipation).
SO, naturally these same children were hooked immediately on this shit like candy coated crack and cocaine. Some people seem to think Charizard becoming an overbearing shillmon is a recent development, when thats not the case at ALL. It was ALWAYS engineered to be a complete shillmon right from the getgo, because Game Freak and jap researchers already knew that all American children innately were dragonic fucklings in the making, so they tapped into that and took heavy advantage of it.
The devotion persists since Millenials grew up in a decadent decade after the Cold War and grew up to be ineffectual manchildren envased in hedonistic bubbles.
