The linearity. The handholding. We're getting older anons, but the franchise isnt. They're pretending like we're stupid kids who need to be helped around everywhere. It goes against the basic formula of Pokémon, having that sense of freedom. Now we're just doing errands for other people while returning to a school to complete missions. Just like PLA. Plus without battle facilities or contests, it makes me feel like that's all they want us doing. I get the franchise is for kids, but it fucking sucks man. Where's that sense of exploration like in HGSS or BW? I'll never forget how I felt when I first crossed into Kanto, that NPC telling me I was in another region. Or when I entered that sprawling cave heading to the Safari Zone. You don't get that feeling from linearity.
