That being said I do think the new Pokémon in Gen 6 are some of the best in the series, so that's a point, but it doesn't make up for everything wrong with them.

I like BW1's design choice of having only new Pokémon, it has the third best OST of any region, the PWT combined with Join Avenue gave me tons of enjoyment in BW2, and the climax of BW1 with the Champion bait-and-switch, box Legendary face-off, and DENNIS are one of the high points in the series.

The only bad part about Sinnoh's OST are its battle music being lacking, but the towns, routes, pretty much anything regarding location music is top notch. Jubilife, Eterna, Veilstone, Sunyshore, Eterna Forest, Route 216 and 228, I could rave about the OST forever.
We might just have different tastes in region though. I love comfy areas, and Sinnoh and Johto both fill that niche perfectly, like the epitome of comfy (this is something Gen V lacks in admittedly). I also agree with you on Sinnoh's new Pokémon being meh, even if I have some favorites here and there.
