As a kid I was stunned with the fact that a water Pokemon is immune to electricity, he became a beast killing everything with Surf and Earthquake. Eventually the design grew on me as well.

Yes. In fact I was playing Emerald when Lucario was already there, so he was my favorite at that point.
Also my first favorites were Bulbasaur and Cubone.

I'm fine. Well, maybe the mega design isn't my favorite.
