a whip is not an overarching term for all long things we hit horses with.
a whip is not interchangeable with the term crop.
if you actually worked with horses, you might be able to understand this mind crushing difference. but here, i'm a caring person, i'll help you out.

op's pic is a crop. jockeys and jumper and event riders use this. you can also shove a crop up a fuckwit's ass if you feel the need.
pic related is a whip. you use this on the flat, riding dressage. among other things, you can flick the horse's quarters with it to get it to move it's hind legs differently. you can also beat idiots in the face with it, leaving satisfying welts.
a bat is shorter than a crop. this can be used by jockeys and jumpers and eventers as well.
a lunge whip is longer and i could probably cheerfully strange you and your whole family with it.
if you google image the word car, more than likely you'll see a lot of things, some of which are actually not cars. don't be fucking dumb. do some bleeding research.
