Changes between environments isn't as stupid as it is in Kalos, where you are in a nice forest and one step further gets you into a town covered in snow.
Here, the changes between environments makes sense. And it has it all, from the snow in Snowpoint, to the more beachy areas around Sunyshore, to the more urban areas like Eterna and Hearthome.
It does the same thing Hoenn did good: blocked paths that you will be able to traverse with ease later in the game, to make traveling easier when you don't have Fly yet.
Bottom line: You are a huge faggot with shit taste.
