Last night I conducted an experiment on GTS stupidity. After failing to find a way to see the stats of a Pokemon being offered for trade on GTS, and, after realizing that the only way to convey said stats is through the short optional message field, I thought, "What would happen if somebody was a dick? What would we do if the description was false? What would happen if I lied over the GTS?"
With this in mind, I put in a Lv. 1 Froakie that I received at random from Wonder Trade. It had the Torrent ability and, as far as I know, no appreciable IV values. Its OT wasn't me, so unless the person trading with me remembered my in-game name for whatever reason, I couldn't be found out.
I entered its description as "Protean, 4 IV" and asked for a Ditto. An hour ago I checked the GTS to find that I had received a Lv. 49 Japanese Ditto in return.
So I guess the moral of the story is, you can get free shit by lying. Just like in real life. Awesome!
